Yesterday our cousins came over to go skiing and to spend the night. When they came we had a lot of fun skiing and afterwords we played Chess and had dinner. In the morning we had pancakes and finished our Scrabble game and then chatted until they left.

Whhoosh! Thud! Crash! I’ve just had a BLAST. But when skiing down a steep slope at about thirty miles an hour, it might be hard not to. Anyway I was with my cousins and having a ton of fun.

Out here there are a ton of ski resorts and this one was called Whaleback. When I went in I was a beginner an now I’m an intermediate skier.

When we got there I was just messing around on the bunny hill until I finally got up the courage to go onĀ  the chairlift. Even though crashes hurt more going at a high speed I still had a good time.

Plants .vs. Zombies3

There is a game called Plants .vs. Zombies. It’s a really cool game where made up plants battle made up zombies in an effort to save the world. It wasn’t long before EA Games had made a second one.

Our school really liked PVZ 1 and 2. Soon somebody at school got the bright to make a third one. So we started making plants and zombies, taping recordings, and messing with Scratch. Soon the game was finished and all we needed was a way to produce it.

We started to try to contact a company. We contacted EA and Pop Cap but nothing worked. We needed a way to PRODUCE. There was only one solution, we needed our own company to do it. Now BGE (best games ever) is working on many games including board and card games and we’re hoping to get our game out by 2016.

Gift Power Machines

Did you know that although something that goes on FOREVER, without an energy source is impossible, a machine that has an energy source yet goes forever is possible. Many machines can do it. The first gift power machine was seen by James Ferguson in 1774. He thought that it was the cleverest thing he had ever seen. The Clock was stolen but Ferguson made many drawings so it can reproduced.

The clock’s power comes from 150kg of mercury in two vessels which power the clock through an ingenious system of gears and pulleys.

Now there are many gift power machines. One typical one is the Perpetual Watch which isn’t really perpetual but is another gift power machine. The amazing thing works on the movement of your body. The point of the watch is that because it is gift power, you never have to wind it! As you can see gift power is extremely useful in many different ways.

Just recently I decided to build a hovercraft. Since I don’t know anything about hovercrafts we needed someone who did. Soon we had found a good website from Instructables that described in great detail how to build a decent hovercraft.

So first things first right? We bought the plans. They should come soon and then we can buy the materials, get the engine and start the work. When it’s finished it should go 8″ off the ground and even go on water. I am very excited and I can’t wait to finish it.

This winter I have decided to learn to ski. At first I was a little clumsy but soon I got the hang of it, and was exploring the J-bar (a J-bar is a kind of lift) and Chair Lift. Skiing was a ton of fun once I got a little better.

Now I’m enrolled in a skiing program with the my school and I go skiing every Friday at a local skiway. I’m learning every day and soon I’ll be an expert skier.

Did you know that 1+2+3+4+5+6…… all the way to Infinity, is -1/12? It doesn’t seem real but it is. Here is a video to prove it.

Isn’t that cool? There is some debate that parts of that equation are a little bit too “mad scientist” to actually work but I’m not a mathematician so I wouldn’t know.
